Through the Looking-Glass is an interactive art installation connecting two divided locations — North and South Korea — to foster empathy and shared experience between users who cannot otherwise communicate. The project reinterprets the 15x15x15 box by splitting it in two, echoing the division of the Korean peninsula 70 years ago. The South Korean box, made of transparent material, symbolizes openness, while the North Korean box, made of opaque material, represents control and suppression. Carefully crafted printed messages allow participants to understand each other’s realities despite the communication barrier.
