SONY TR-1825 is a digitally fabricated reinterpretation of Sony's 1970 portable radio. The project examines how a historically significant consumer object can be translated into a contemporary tangible interface through digital fabrication and embedded electronics. Rather than replicating its appearance, it preserves the original interaction logic built around the radio's distinctive sliding cube mechanism. Re-engineered for modern prototyping, the object retains its tactile qualities while enabling functional sound playback. Opening, sliding, and adjusting it controls its behaviour, emphasising embodied interaction over screen-based control.
