Beyond the Curtain

Beyond the Curtain is a 32x32 LED matrix art installation showcasing a collection of iconic photography portraits. The images undergo a continual transformation as an algorithm dynamically alters the color of each pixel. This constantly evolving display challenges recognition and perception of the images’ subject. By overlaying the matrix with a red transparent screen and a cloudy plastic sheet, the image becomes perceptible to the spectator. This project explores the boundaries between the digital and physical worlds, highlighting the interaction of different materials with intangible digital data.
