RINO is a gesture detector that reimagines the centerpiece as a tool for conviviality. Inspired by the canaries once used in mines to signal danger, RINO monitors the dinner’s atmosphere. If someone picks up their phone and disrupts the balance, the object tilts to gently bring attention back to the table. Through this subtle reaction, RINO encourages presence and shared focus, turning the act of dining into a collective ritual and reinforcing social connection in a playful and meaningful way.
